Our Next Gen Sports players delivered strong performances at the Rotterdam Premier Padel P1
The Rotterdam Premier Padel P1 was a remarkable opportunity for Next Gen Sports players Álvaro Cepero and Julia Polo to showcase their skills in one of the most competitive tournaments on the circuit.
Álvaro Cepero, alongside his partner Miguel Benítez, entered the tournament from the main draw, facing familiar opponents D. Perino and M. Lamperti in the first round. The duo dominated from start to finish, proving their great form and winning the match with a convincing double 6-2.
In the second round, they faced the 13th seeds, L. Campagnolo and J. Leal. Despite Álvaro and Miguel maintaining a high level throughout the match, their opponents’ power and speed prevailed in critical moments, winning 6-4, 7-5. Regardless of the outcome, we are extremely proud of Álvaro’s performance, demonstrating his excellent form. Congratulations, and enjoy a well-deserved vacation to come back even stronger!
On the other hand, Julia Polo, continuing her impressive run, confidently passed the tournament’s qualifying phase alongside her partner Lara Arruabarrena. In the round of 32, they faced 8th seeds Carmen Goenaga and Virginia Riera, delivering a stunning upset with a straight-sets victory (6-3, 7-6).
In the round of 16, Julia and Lara once again faced L. Martínez and K. Sharifova, their rivals in Madrid. Despite displaying excellent play, they fell in straight sets, marking the end of their tournament run. Nevertheless, Julia continues to show steady progress in every competition. We are incredibly proud of you, Julia, and we know the best is yet to come!
At Next Gen Sports, we remain committed to supporting our players’ growth and development in every tournament, confident that great achievements lie just ahead.
