Premier Padel Comunidad de Madrid P1 Results Summary – Wizink Center (2-8 September)
The Premier Padel Comunidad de Madrid P1 tournament, held at the iconic Wizink Center from September 2nd to 8th, has been a crucial stage for our players to showcase their exceptional level and unwavering dedication. We are extremely proud of their performance and how they have embodied Next Gen Sports’ values on the court.
Julia Polo began her journey from the Qualifying rounds, where, with determination and talent, she overcame her opponents in two magnificent matches, clearly demonstrating that her place is in the main draw. In the Round of 16, Julia and her partner Lara faced L. Martínez and K. Sharifova. Although they couldn’t secure the win, they proved to be a superior team in the match. Their performance in this tournament reinforces their position among the best, and we will continue to support their progress towards new goals.
On the other hand, Álvaro Cepero started his campaign in the Round of 32, where his excellent form allowed him to defeat A. Fernández and J. Jiménez in straight sets. In the second round, alongside Miguel Benítez, they delivered a major upset by eliminating the 7th-seeded pair, Juan Tello and Fernando Belasteguín, with a convincing 6-4, 6-1 victory. In the Round of 16, after an exciting match where they even had a match point, Álvaro and Miguel were narrowly defeated by the tournament’s surprise duo, J. Diestro and A. Fernández Lancha, who put on a spectacular performance.
